Dalam bentuk elektronika sekarang lebih ditekankan pada pn-junction dari cahaya. Komponen elektronika tidak semudah itu pada diode peralihan p dan n tak semudah itu dalam tersebut ditengah antara bagian p dan n ada satu daerah lagi yaitu panghantar p/n untuk menimbulkan tahanan sebesarnya saat memblokir arus dan konduktivitas sebesarnya untuk meneruskan arus.
